I stayed at Microtel Resort in Boracay. It sits right on the beach on Diniwid Beach, just north of station one. The highlights of the property: quiet, great customer service, great view, pool and easy to get around.
The staff met us at the airport and then escorted us by ferry and then a shuttle to the hotel. The prices vary between below and peak season.
The beachfront room and low season was 3700 pesos ($78USD) per night, and in high season it is doubled.
After my friend Michelle left, I moved to a cheaper room for 3000 pesos per night. This was over my 2000 peso a night budget, but I have saved in other areas throughout the past few weeks. I could have paid less, if I wanted to move down to the noisier part of the beach, but found it to be easier just to move within the hotel.
There was a restaurant called Mama’s Fish House connected to the hotel. Breakfast was eggs, bacon, toast, fresh fruit and coffee and was included in the room price. It was delicious too.
There is a hotel shuttle or you can walk about 20 minutes to station one. The shuttle starts at 9 AM and ends at midnight. It was very convenient, and seemed to stay on schedule pretty well.
The hammocks, chairs, beach and pool were so relaxing. It was also nice to watch the sunset on the beach near the hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay here.
